MATERIAL & MAKING
More than a surface.
Paper, too, is part of the composition.
01 / PAPER & PRESENCE
The character of handmade paper.
Handmade paper is not a ground to be concealed.
In mixed-media practice, it becomes part of the composition alongside colour, line and other materials. Softness and roughness, lightness and weight, presence and concealment create different ways of seeing within a single work.
We value the presence of the materials themselves: the edge of a sheet, an uneven surface and the details of overlapping layers all become part of the encounter.

Images illustrate papermaking and material textures only; they do not identify a paper type or supplier, or document our production.
02 / TEXTURE & LAYERS
A closer look at texture.
The character of paper lies in its smallest details: the density of its fibres, its irregular edges, the rise and fall of its surface. Each sheet has a rhythm of its own.
When handmade paper meets other materials, softness and roughness, sheen and matte surfaces play against one another. Contrasts of tone and texture become a visual language.

03 / FOLLOW THE MATERIAL
Let the material lead the eye.
Layers of paper open up spaces between edges, lines and colours. Pale, ochre and dark passages weave together, revealing and concealing small details.
Before seeking an image, let the eye follow the textures and contours. The material has a voice of its own.

This story explores the materials of the original mixed-media works. Canvas print materials, dimensions and framing are specified by the selected product format.
